How to get your home ready for a decorator
What to do before your painter and decorator arrives: clearing rooms, choosing colours, access and what a good decorator does for you.

A little preparation on your side makes the job faster and the result better.
Before the day
- Decide colours early and order samples. Our colour visualiser is a good starting point.
- Take down pictures, curtains and small items.
- Move what you can to the middle of the room or out.
- Tell us about any damp, cracks or problems you've noticed.
What we do
We sheet floors and furniture, mask fittings, fill and sand, and use dustless sanding so dust doesn't spread through the house. At the end of each day we tidy up.
For exteriors
Clear plant pots and furniture from walls, let neighbours know about ladders or scaffolding, and make sure we have access to an outside tap for washing down.
Communication
If weather moves an exterior start date, we'll tell you, as reviewers have mentioned. Ask us anything on WhatsApp or the phone.
